Learn About Horticulture ScienceThe Horticulture Science program provides students with the knowledge and skills to enter into various careers such as golf course management, sports turf management, landscape design, landscape installation, and grounds production. Educational diversity creates an added advantage for students in learning about Horticulture Science. As a member of the PLANET organization, students have an opportunity to travel and compete nationally in Student Career Days. Experience and TrainingThe Horticulture Science's eight-week Employment Experience allows students to gain real work experience on-site at an employer. This ensures students gain the skills they need to succeed on the job. Transfer InformationHawkeye Community College's Agriculture and Natural Resources programs have articulation agreements with Iowa State University, Upper Iowa University, Mount Mercy University, and Northwest Missouri State University to transfer both general education and technical credits. A Park and Turf option has a direct articulation agreement with the University of Northern Iowa Leisure Services Department.
