Accelerated Courses for Working Adults

Accelerated Courses for Working Adults

Accelerated courses at Hawkeye are designed for working adults that want to take the next step in their careers.

Students enrolled in Hawkeye's Accelerated classes:

  • take one class at a time, meeting once a week in the evening for 5 or 10 weeks.
  • complete additional coursework outside the classroom and online.
  • have class discussions based on personal and professional experiences.

Planning Your Class Schedule

Students can complete the Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts or Business Administration entirely in the accelerated 5-week format. Additionally, students can take a combination of online, evening, and daytime course formats to complete their degree requirements.

It's recommended that students in accelerated courses take only one course at a time due to the intensity of the 5-week course format.

We encourage students to work with a Hawkeye program advisor to select courses, make a transfer plan, and review their progress.
