Hawkeye Community College and Allen students interested in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program - Certificate Option should take the each of the following courses.

Humanities

• ENG105 Composition I
• ENG 106 Composition II
• SPC101 Fundamentals of Oral Communication

Natural Sciences

• BIO168 Human Anatomy & Physiology I w/lab AND
  BIO173 Human A & P II w/lab (must be taken at the same institution as A&P I)
  OR
  BIO159 Fundamentals of A & P AND
  BIO163 Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology

• PHY162 College Physics
• MAT122 College Algebra
  OR
  MAT 156 Statistics

Program Admission

A 2.7 GPA is required for admission into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certificate program.

Meeting admission criteria does not guarantee admission into the program. All students will be subject to a background check prior to admission and licensure.
