2011 Faculty of the Year

Instructor Marty Kroenecke was awarded the prestigious President’s Award for Outstanding Service of a Faculty Member. Kroenecke teaches transportation courses and is an advisor for the Truck Driving and Transportation Training program. He also works to develop continuing education programming for motorcycles, mopeds, law enforcement, truck drivers, bus drivers, and more.
Kroenecke has brought advanced technology to Hawkeye including truck driving simulators and the Skid Monster. He also instrumental in making the Regional Transportation Training Center a reality at Hawkeye.
Flexible, innovative spirit, eager, passionate, caring, boundless energy, and entrepreneurial are all words supporters used to describe Kroenecke.
One nominator said of Kroenecke, "He is thought of with high regard by the businesses we work with in Business and Community Education that require transportation training. His ability to build strong relationships and maintain them is evident in the return and new business we see from these relationships."
"Marty's passion and drive will undoubtedly make the Regional Transportation Training Center a tremendous success and ensure Hawkeye Community College remains a leader in the field," another nominator states.
"Marty is a person that you never forget once you meet him. His bright smile and friendly manner puts you at ease right away and he always makes you feel welcome. His students have the upmost respect for him. He strives to provide quality training for each of his students. He spends hours with each of his students and provides them with a top notch education," as stated by another nominator.
