2011 Innovation of the Year - CollegeNow!

Gail Zehr, Associate Director of High School Relations, was award the Innovation of the Year for her leadership and vision of the CollegeNow! program at Hawkeye.
Zehr worked develop the CollegeNow! program. Some of her work includes:
- Increased high enrollment is college-level classes by more than 10% each semester.
- Refined and implemented successful registration and enrollment processes.
- Facilitated collaboration between Hawkeye and area high schools to create career academies.
Gail is described as bright, dedicated, and hardworking.
One of the nominators of the award states, "Gail has always answered our concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Throughout these changes, there have been some growing pains, however, Gail and her staff consistently worked with our staff in the most efficient manner to come to a resolution."
"Gail was able to organize and coordinate the new initiative with a goal of not only strengthening our relationship with the schools. She also improved the communication and services provided to the staff, the students, and parents in those districts," another nominator states.
