Hawkeye Celebrates Graduation

The Hawkeye Community College Spring Commencement Ceremony was on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls.

More than 250 graduates participated in the ceremony receiving two-year degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

Officer Spencer Gann presented the keynote address to students. Gann is a officer with the Waterloo Police Department and is a graduate of Hawkeye Community College. He was named "Officer of the Year" by the Waterloo Exchange Club.

He spoke of living out the core values of the Waterloo Police Department in his academic, professional, and personal life. The core values of Waterloo Police Department are courage, honest, integrity, professional, respect, and vigilance.

Graduation will be rebroadcast through May 31 on the Hawkeye Cable Channel.
