Hawkeye Community College Graduation Set for December 13

WATERLOO—The commencement ceremony for Hawkeye Community College graduates is scheduled for Thursday, December 13, at 6:30pm. This event will take place in Hawse Auditorium in Tama Hall on the main campus. Students who have completed certificates, diplomas, or degrees in the 2012 Fall Semester will be participating.

Martin Kroenecke is the keynote speaker. He is a recipient of the 2011 President’s Award for Outstanding Service for Faculty. He is the lead instructor for the Truck and Transportation Training program. He demonstrates a passion for everything he is involved in and is highly regarded by all who work with him. It was Kroenecke’s vision that was utilized in the design and building of Hawkeye’s new $3.52 million Regional Transportation Training Center, which is the only one of its kind in the state. He was instrumental in bringing leading-edge technology to his programs with the use of driving simulators and Skid Monster self-defense driving vehicles. He is a native of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area and currently resides in the Jesup area.
