Last week, Student Life introduced a new type of volunteer activity for students to participate in called Stop and Serve. In the past, students have typically gone out to volunteer in the community. However, Stop and Serve brought volunteer opportunities to the Brock Student Center for students to partake in during their free time. Interested students had the option of committing anywhere from 5 minutes to up to hours of their time to give back to others last Tuesday through Friday. The projects that students worked on were:

  • Making tie fleece blankets for Seeds of House, The Cedar Bend Humane Society, and The Stork's Nest
  • Assembling dog tags for The Grout Museum
  • Writing letters to troops to be mailed overseas
  • Creating Valentine's Day Cards to mail to veterans and the elderly

Overall, the week of service activities was a success. Stop and Serve will return March 4-7 on the stage of the Brock Student Center.
