High School Completion Program

HiSET Testing

The HiSET test consists of five separate subject tests. 

  • Language Arts – Reading
  • Language Arts – Writing
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Tests can be taken by appointment on Monday afternoons, Wednesday evenings, and Friday mornings at the Metro Assessment Center. You will schedule one test at a time.

Testing Process

  1. Obtain a test referral form from your High School Completion program teacher.

  2. Schedule an appointment to take a test.

    The HiSET test is computer-based. You will learn needed computer skills while you study in the High School Completion program.

  3. Bring the completed form and a valid, unexpired government ID. Driver's license is a valid form of ID.

  4. Pay the testing or retake fee.

You must achieve a minimum score of 8 on each of the 5 tests, and total score of 45. If needed, test can be retaken.

Limited Services:
Hawkeye Center will be open 8:00am–4:00pm. Please call 319-296-2320 before visiting.
