Iowa Hunter Safety Course

Hunter safety education is designed to introduce several life-long skills that are important to many types of outdoor recreational opportunities.

If you were born after January 1, 1972 you must be certified in hunter safety education before you can purchase an Iowa hunting license. A person who is 11 years old or older may enroll in a course but will not be issued a certificate until their 12th birthday.

Hunter Safety Course

This Hunter Safety course will discuss DNR hunter information and regulations. Topics covered include hunter safety, responsibility, landowner relations, and ethics. In order to receive certification students must attend both days.
