Group of professionals looking at laptops and talking

Great businesses don't just adapt to the needs of their customers. To be successful, they must understand the needs of their workforce. It’s about more than hiring the right people. It’s also providing the right opportunities to grow as professionals.

This series will focus on specific business topics vital for success such as handling difficult conversations, assessing your emotional intelligence, learning to lead yourself, the art of skillful negotiations, finding meaning in your work, providing rockstar customer service, and much more. You’ll leave each session with valuable knowledge to apply at your workplace the next day.

Creating a Healthy Workplace

We spend more time at work between the ages of 20 and 60 years old than we do at home in our personal lives. We ALL deserve to go to work, to feel well, to feel valued, and to be able to make great contributions. In order to achieve that, our workplaces have responsibilities in order to support high value environments, create strong expectations, and to build strong relationships and teams. However, it is each individual’s obligation as well to find ways to create their own happiness and to add value to those around them while steering away from adding drama and negative behaviors to our workplace. In this session, we will put our hands on the steering wheel and learn how we drive toward influencing and building strong, productive, fun, and engaging environments for all to enjoy and perform in at work!

From Clashes to Connections: Deescalating Difficult Situations

Having the insight of what pushes our buttons and ramps up aggravation is key to managing one’s emotions when situations are tense. In this session, first we’ll explore personal values. When they are challenged, it can be a source of contention. Then, we’ll evaluate how our stress shows up. Are we aware when our body signals that we are in a heightened state of emotion? Equipped with this self-knowledge can help us regulate our own emotions when faced with challenging situations. We apply this insight to a five-step process of effectively de escalating difficult situations along with things to avoid when responding. Lastly, we’ll evaluate what’s within our control: our attitude, our tone, our choice of words all contributed to our ability to respond rather than react.
