Critical Care: Cardiac Dysrhythmias

Class Description: This class is offered as a module in the 'Managment of the Critically Ill Patient' series. Class objectives include: identify the normal PR interval, QRS, and QT interval; interpret 22 dysrhythmias; discuss the assessment of the patient with each dysrhythmias; and describe current treatment protocols for each dysrhythmia including the actions and side effects of the medication.The course is designed for healthcare professionals, including nurses, paramedics, EMTs and respiratory therapists, who are providing care for a critically ill patient in multiple settings, such as an emergency department, critical care unit, medical/surgical unit, and home care. Expert instructors will provide the education. The course will include extensive handouts, up-to-date information, CEUs, and a live broadcast via the Iowa Communications Network (ICN). Competency testing is also available upon request.
