JOB SUMMARY: This individual collects and compiles confidential information, including maintenance of office records and files. Word processing, composition and report writing. Trains student employees and coordinates duties. Works with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, professionals, business and government officials, and the general public. Provides excellent customer service. Works effectively in a collaborative team atmosphere. Manages and prioritizes multiple priorities, tasks, and projects. Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Utilizes excellent judgment with administrative support decisions. Establishes and meets deadlines for completion of required work. Utilizes office technology, e.g., computer, scanner, email, Internet, web pages. Maintains records in accordance with standard office principles. Understands and follows complex oral and written directions. Works flexible hours, as necessary. Projects a positive professional image. Performs general administrative support duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree and two years of office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of experience in Excel, Word, or equivalent software with advanced computer skills. Datatel experience beneficial. Experience with academic administrative processes beneficial. Minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute. Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations. Demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the operations, functions, and scope of authority of the College as related to the handling and disposition of complaints, requests for information, and delegated administrative details.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Wages expected to be $12.61 per hour and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution) for all positions. Full time position includes a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave.
