Teaching and Learning Services Technician

JOB SUMMARY: This individual assists with monitoring of distance learning classrooms for quality and performance. Provides technical assistance to distance-learning instructors and students. Assists with installation and removal of classroom multimedia. Assists in faculty training for using multimedia equipment. Provides technical support for faculty and staff in media classrooms. Assists the Broadcast Engineering Specialist with technology needs for campus events. Records, edits, and assists in scheduling events for playback on HCC-TV. Assists in organizing, creating, and sustaining retrievable archives of learning management system, digital media and technology inventory. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the Brobst Center for Teaching and Learning Services by working cooperatively as a team member, contributing to collective knowledge among Center staff, respectively challenging our team’s thinking, following through on priorities and promises, and assisting others in developing creative solutions that uphold our commitment to teaching excellence. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: One year multimedia technology related experience. Experience with or aptitude to learn telecommunications technology and instructional media technologies, including but not limited to video systems, sound systems and presentation systems. Experience in instructional technology applications. Ability to work effectively with diverse students, staff, and public. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Preferences include Associate’s degree in technology related field.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time position with wages expected to be $13.75 per hour. Anticipated hours will be flexible up to 24 hours per week afternoon, evening, and occasional weekends.
