Information Technology Instructor

JOB SUMMARY: This position has the responsibility of providing high-quality classroom instruction and leadership to the students in Information Technology programs. Information Technology offers degree and certificate programming in Network Administration and Engineering, Information Systems Management, and Computer Network Technician. This position has classroom contact with students from all tracks as well as serving as academic advisor to students. Teaching responsibilities may include courses covering the following subject matter: personal computer hardware and operating systems, network servers, operating systems, mail and database servers, security, and computer networking. Teaching assignments may include days and evenings, and various sites and formats (face-to-face, on-line, ICN). A full-time teaching load of 15 credit hours per term is typical. Beyond instructional responsibilities this position requires sound communication with supervisors, program faculty, advisory committee members, other divisions of the college, and the community.
 

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include an Associate’s degree in an Information Technology related field, and three years of recent and relevant work experience that must include Microsoft server operating systems. Preferences include IT industry certifications (Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, MCTS, MCITP, A+, Security+, CEH); a bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field; and work experience with SAN management, Linux, and/or programming.
 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Nine-month contractual position beginning August 19, 2013. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience and will include a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; personal and sick leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution).
