JOB SUMMARY: This individual assists Health Education and Services Center (HESC) Manager and Associate Director of Student Life in the implementation of student activities including intramural, social, recreational, and family events. Assists HESC Manager and Associate Director of Student Life in coordinating, marketing, and promotion of wellness, intramurals, and club sports. Assists HESC Manager in supervision of daily, evening and/or weekend activities. Assists HESC Manager in the coordination of daily, evening and/or weekend activities. Assists HESC Manager in development of project reports and promotional information about HESC services offered. Assists HESC Manager in the supervision of student employees in the HESC. Assists HESC Manager and Student Life staff with student programs/activities including graduation ceremonies, and fall/spring celebrations. Performs general inspection and maintenance of equipment within HESC. Maintains a daily student cleaning schedule for the weight room, equipment, and training areas. Performs set-up, tears-down, and storage of equipment. Promotes positive public relations featuring student wellness. Assists students, staff, and faculty with exercise programs. Assists HESC Manager in the general supervision of all activities in the HESC. Assists HESC Manager in the supervision of student employees. Performs other related work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in leisure services, health promotion, fitness management, sports administration, or related field. Ability to travel. CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain. Possess or ability to obtain Personal Training/Group Exercise Certifications. Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work with diverse populations, faculty, staff, and students. Positive attitude toward student activities and physical fitness. Ability to work flexible hours (weekends/morning/evenings). Preferences include one year experience with college aged students, marketing, or events coordination. Experience with the planning and implementation of health, recreation, and student life event.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time position averaging 27 hours per week. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.
