Business/Accounting Instructor

JOB SUMMARY: This is a full-time position with the responsibility of providing high-quality classroom instruction and leadership to the students of the Business Department. Courses may include, but not limited to, Accounting, Business Ethics, Economics and Marketing. The successful candidate should have a strong background in current business practices. This individual employs instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives, assessing accomplishments of students on a regular basis, and providing progress reports as requested and required. Major responsibilities include supervising and advising students, and formulating and maintaining curriculum for assigned courses. Teaching assignments may include days and evenings, and various sites and formats (face-to-face, on-line, ICN). A full-time teaching load of 15 credit hours per term is typical. This individual will maintain cooperative relationships with the Dean, other faculty, all divisions of the College, prospective employers, and the community. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and three years of relevant work experience is required, including at least one year of teaching experience. Ability to work with diverse populations. Preference postsecondary teaching experience; professional certification(s) in respective fields; an interest and ability in incorporating instructional technologies in the classroom; and developing and revising curriculum.
 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Nine-month contractual position beginning in August of 2014. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience and will include a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; personal and sick leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution).
