Applying for Financial Aid
To receive federal and state financial aid you need to fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) every school year. You can complete a FAFSA for the upcoming academic year after January 1. Some grants and loans have limited funding and we recommend you file your FAFSA in the spring prior to each academic year no later than July 1. Filing your FAFSA after July 1 may result in the loss or reduction of federal or state grants; however you may still be eligible for limited funding. Once your FAFSA has been processed you will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) with the results of your FAFSA including your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Filing your FAFSAThe quickest way to submit your FAFSA is online. Filing your FAFSA with a PIN signature will ensure prompt processing. Our office typically receives your FAFSA results within one to two weeks. Learn more at www.fafsa.gov. When applying for financial aid, please choose the appropriate year FAFSA. Hawkeye's FAFSA school code is 004595. What happens after I submit my FAFSA?Once we receive your FAFSA results from the federal processing center, we can start your financial aid file.
