The Hawkeye Community College Achievement Scholarship is awarded to 80 graduating high school seniors. Each scholarship award is worth $1000.
As a bonus, if you took six or more college credits while in high school you may be eligible for a $2000 award.
Current year high school graduate.
Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5.
Participated in leadership, volunteer, and/or extra curricular activities while in high school.
Accepted for admission to Hawkeye by April 1.
Enrolled full-time at Hawkeye by August 1.
Complete the general Hawkeye Scholarship Application if you have not done so already.
Write a short 200-500 word essay which must include:
your name, high school, and Hawkeye student ID number (if you have one) so we can match your essay to your Hawkeye scholarship application.
your high school cumulative GPA and your college cumulative GPA if applicable.
the college classes you took while in high school if applicable.
how you have demonstrated leadership and volunteerism through the activities you have participated in during your high school career (200-500 words).
Proofread your essay carefully. Essays are critiqued on length, grammatical accuracy, and relevance of content.
Email your completed essay to achievement.scholarship@hawkeyecollege.edu by March 1.
