Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is available to students who:

The maximum grant for 2015-2016 is $5,775 as determined by federal legislation. The grant amount that you can receive is determined by the number of credit hours you are enrolled in and attending at the financial aid lock date and your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

If awarded a Pell Grant, the amount stated on your financial aid award is based on projected funding and is subject to change.

No repayment is normally required, unless you withdraw from school or don't pass all of your classes.

Maintaining Your Eligibility

If you receive a Federal Pell Grant you must successfully complete your coursework for the current semester; otherwise your Pell Grant for future semesters could be affected.

Before renewing your grant for the upcoming semester, we will ensure that you have successfully completed the required hours to continue to receive your full Pell award.

Lifetime Eligibility Used

The amount of Federal Pell Grant funds you may receive over your lifetime is limited by federal law to be the equivalent of six years of Pell Grant funding. Since the maximum amount of Pell Grant funding you can receive each year is equal to 100%, the six-year equivalent is 600%.
