The Hawkeye Community College Achievement Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors. Each scholarship award is worth $1,000. If you took six or more college credits while in high school, you may qualify for a $2,000 scholarship!
Current year high school graduate.
Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5.
Participated in leadership, volunteer, and/or extra curricular activities while in high school.

Apply at Hawkeye, if you have not done so already.
Deadline: You must be accepted by April 1
Write a Short Essay
Write a short essay and email your completed essay to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline: March 1
Your essay must include:
your name, high school, and Hawkeye student ID number (if you have one) so we can match your essay to your Hawkeye scholarship application.
your high school cumulative GPA and your college cumulative GPA if applicable.
the college classes you took while in high school if applicable.
200-500 words about how you have demonstrated leadership and volunteerism through the activities you have participated in during the years you were in high school.
Proofread your essay carefully.
Essays are critiqued on length, grammatical accuracy, and relevance of content.
