The club will feature a day and evening performance during the Fall Semester.
How Do I Join?
There are no auditions for this group. Whether you're a trained singer or just starting out, any full or part-time Hawkeye student can join. Everyone is welcome!

Rehearsals – Spring 2013
Rehearsals are held every Monday and Wednesday from Noon-12:50pm in Black Hawk Hall 201.
Performances – Spring 2013
The Chorus Club will have four performances:
February 22 – Experience Hawkeye Visit Day
April 12 – Magical Musical Tour (Main Performance)
7:00pm in Tama Hall Auditorium
$2 for students, $5 for public
April 22 – Earth Day Celebration
May 17 – Graduation
Meet the Director
Lucinda Lear is an instructor in piano and music at Hawkeye and has been an independent teacher of voice and piano for over 25 years as owner/instructor of Lear Music Studio. In 2006, she opened Cedar Valley Music Academy teaching group and private piano.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, magna cum laude, from the University of Northern Iowa with a vocal emphasis studying with Dr. Jean McDonald and a Master of Arts in Music, with an emphasis in piano pedagogy studying with Dr. Barbara Fast and Dr. Robin Guy from the University of Northern Iowa.
She holds Permanent Professional Certification in piano and voice from the Music Teachers National Association, the Iowa Master Teacher Adjudicator certificate, and is a member of the College of Examiners of The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Canada and the National Music Certificate Program (NMCP) in the United States.
Lucinda’s activities have included musical director/composer and accompanist backstage for theatre productions such as Godspell and The Hobbit and onstage as Jenny Lind in Barnum, Marian in Music Man and many chorus roles with the Waterloo Community Playhouse. In 2005, Lear was soprano soloist for the premiere of a multi-media musical, Fabric of a Family by Joy Carden and Susan Ogilvy at the University of Kentucky.
Lucinda has taught piano on the Crystal Cruise lines and is married to musician husband, Roger.
