Wondering if Group Fitness Classes are a Good Fit for You?

Try it out! All classes are great for all fitness levels from beginner to intermediate. Our instructors help you work at your level!

We try to schedule classes at convenient times to fit into your busy schedule, however, if you can only attend part of the class, that's OK. We just encourage you to warm up and cool down if arriving late or leaving early.

I'm Interested! How do I Sign-Up?

Signing up is easy. Simply visit the Health Education and Services Center front desk to sign the Health Education and Services Center Waiver. Employees will also need to purchase a class pass (pay by cash or check). Don't forget your Hawkeye Card ID.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

Please arrive a few minutes before class and inform the instructor of any injuries.

Bring a clean pair of non-marking athletic shoes.

After the fourth week of the semester, fitness classes must have three participants at the start of class time for class to be held. If there are only one or two patrons for class, then WellBeats will be utilized instead.

Student Life holds the right to cancel any class at any time.

There are no refunds after registration.

Students, We Want to Hear From You!

We want to know what classes, days, and times work best for you to offer student only group fitness classes. Take this quick survey to let us know your preferences.

Working out in a group setting makes me more accountable and provides me an incentive to come to class. I enjoy the variety of exercises and equipment used in class. While the trainer sets the schedule of exercises for the class and often includes a time frame (30 seconds of jumping jacks), we can perform the exercise at our own speed and don't need to feel pressure to keep up with anyone else. — Julie Thomas
