Apply for Hawkeye and External Scholarships

Hawkeye scholarships are available each semester for students based on achievement, registered credits, and financial need, as shown on your FAFSA application, among other factors. To get these scholarships, you must be registered for classes by the first day of the semester.

External scholarships come from local, state, and national organizations. All external scholarships are checked to ensure they are legitimate before being posted for students to apply.

ScholarshipUniverse matches you with scholarships based on your answers to questions about yourself. When you match with a new scholarship, you’ll get an email alert. The more questions you answer, the more scholarships you might qualify for now and in the future!

The first questions will check if you qualify for Hawkeye scholarships. After that, you can either answer more questions to find more scholarships or browse the ones you already match with.

Some questions may already be answered for you as Hawkeye uploads information to your student profile. This information cannot be modified in ScholarshipUniverse.

Log in anytime to answer additional questions or update your answers.

After you create your profile in ScholarshipUniverse and apply for scholarships for the first time, follow these steps to find new scholarships for the next semester:

1. Log into ScholarshipUniverse and check your Dashboard for new scholarship opportunities.
2. Click on the "Questions" menu to update your answers and answer new questions to be considered for more scholarships.
3. When you're done, go to the "Scholarship" menu to see the scholarships you can apply for.

If you've already submitted an application, you can either resubmit the same one or add new or updated information.

In ScholarshipUniverse, you will see scholarships sorted by category or status.

Scholarship Status Tabs

• Matches: A list of scholarships you qualify for.
• Pinned: A list of scholarships you have saved in your account.
• Partial Matches: Scholarships you match based on at least one requirement. Click on a scholarship to see specific questions you need to answer to possibly qualify. You can click the edit icon to answer those additional questions.
• Application Submitted: A list of scholarships you have applied for.
• Awarded: A list of scholarships you have received.
• Non-Matches: Scholarships you do not qualify for.
• Not Interested: Scholarships you have marked as ones you don’t want to apply for.
