Foundation Private Loan

Loans through the Hawkeye Community College Foundation

The Foundation Private Loan can help you pay for tuition, fees, and book expenses. This loan will first be used for tuition and fees, and then for your book costs.

If you get any additional financial aid, the total of the loan and your other financial aid cannot be more than the cost of attendance.

  • Full-time (12 or more credit hours): $1,000
  • Quarter-time (9–11 credit hours): $750
  • Half-time (6–8 credit hours): $500

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours.
  • Pass a credit report or have an eligible co-signer.

Contact the Foundation office for an application and required loan paperwork.

Loan funds are first used to pay off any balances on your student account. Any leftover money will be refunded to the student.

You’ll start making monthly loan payments directly to the Foundation office 90 days after graduating or leaving Hawkeye, unless you continue your education at another college or university.

Contact the Foundation office for the current interest rate.
