As a flooring installer, you’ll make spaces look amazing by putting new floors in homes, businesses, and other buildings. You’ll measure, cut, and install different types of flooring like carpet, vinyl, laminate, and wood.

Gain the essential skills, hands-on learning experiences, and valuable certifications that will prepare you for a successful career in the flooring industry.

  • Learn how to measure and prepare floors
  • Estimate costs and choose the right materials
  • Install vinyl, hardwood, tile, and carpet
  • Work with patterns, seams, and padding for carpet
  • Gain skills in advanced installation techniques for all floor types

Learn in class and then practice your skills in the lab. Build your skills with hands-on activities installing vinyl, wood, carpet, and tile.

This Technical College Basic Floor Covering Installation program was created in partnership with International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI), Certified Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), the recognized certifying and training associations for the floor covering industry.

This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid; however, scholarships are available through the Floor Covering Education Foundation.
