Program Overview

This intensive program, certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), will help you become a Certified Professional Medical Coder, one of the fastest-growing jobs in healthcare.

Your training includes online lessons in coding. Learn medical terms and anatomy and coding using the three main code books.

  • CPT
  • ICD-10-CM
  • HCPCS Level II

Complete the online lessons and move onto a practicum. In the practicum, you will code 600 medical records, giving you the same experience as one year of professional coding.

Once you finish the course, you can take a national certification exam to become a certified professional coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid, but other funding options may be available. We’ll help you with the options.

To enroll in the Certified Professional Medical Coder program, you must:

  • Be a high school diploma or equivalency diploma is required.
  • Successfully complete the medical terminology and anatomy modules before the coding portion of class.
  • Have access to a computer.

Part 1: Anatomy/Medical Terminology

  • Dates: January 13 – February 9, 2025
  • Schedule: Complete coursework at your own pace and on your own schedule.
  • Format/Location: Asynchronous online

Part 2: Medical Coding

  • Dates: February 10 – June 12, 2025
  • Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays, 5 – 9 PM
  • Format/Location: Live online

Cost: $4,099 (Includes books, AAPC student membership, practice exam, Certified Professional Coder certification exam, and Practicode CPC-A Practicum)
