Program Overview

Receive hands-on training and gain the skills to maintain production equipment that uses a range of technologies:

  • Direct and alternating current (electricity)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power
  • Single and three-phase motor controls
  • Mechanical power systems

The Automation and Robotics Center offers dozens of specialized workstations where you can learn to troubleshoot a variety of systems.

In the lab, an instructor is available to assist as you work with different machines. Classroom instructors guide you through the concepts and theories behind your tasks, helping you apply the math and science essential for industrial systems.

Once you complete your coursework you'll earn a Hawkeye Community College certificate of completion and be eligible to earn industry-recognized credentials from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA).

This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid, but other funding options may be available. We’ll help you with the options.
