Free Counseling and Medical Care for Students

Whether you're sick, managing a long-term health issue, or trying to live a healthier lifestyle, we're here to help. Our goal is to give students access to health care and counseling services to support your success at Hawkeye Community College.

Our team includes a nurse practitioner and a licensed mental health counselor. We understand the different needs of college students and are here to help you with them.

Services Available

Services are available at no cost to actively enrolled students as a benefit included in their tuition. Appointments are preferred and encouraged. Same day appointments for medical needs are often available and walk-in medical needs are seen as the schedule allows.

Meeting one-on-one with a licensed counselor in a private space can help you understand your thoughts and feelings better, improve problem-solving skills, and make a plan for the future.

You don’t need an appointment to go to urgent care or a walk-in clinic.

You will need to pay for the services at the time of your visit. It is not free. If you have health insurance, be sure to bring your insurance card with you.
