Hawkeye Card

Your Official College ID

Each full-time Hawkeye student and employee will be issued a Hawkeye Card. This card will serve as your:

  • Official student ID.
  • Library card.
  • Pass to get into the Health Education and Services Center, Student Tutoring and Computer Lab, student activities, and events.

Keep this card for the entire time you are enrolled or employed at Hawkeye. If you lose or misplace your card, you will be charged the card replacement fee.

Where Can I Get a Hawkeye Card?

If you do not have a Hawkeye Card you can stop by the following offices to receive your Hawkeye Card:

  • Students: Student Services, Hawkeye Center 208
  • Employees and Contractors: Public Safety, Hawkeye Center 228

Where Do I Find My Student ID Number?

Throughout your time at Hawkeye, you will use your student ID number often.

Your student ID number is seven digits long.

There are several places you can find your Hawkeye student ID number.

  • In Self-Service > User Options menu item > About You. Your student ID number will be listed as "Colleague ID" under your picture towards the top of the screen.
  • Once you've received your Hawkeye Card, you can find your student ID number on the back of the card in the bottom right corner.
  • When you are accepted to Hawkeye, your student ID number will be included in your acceptance letter from the Admissions office.

Report a Lost or Stolen Hawkeye Card

It is important that you report your card lost or stolen as soon as possible.

When you report your card lost or stolen, you will need to provide:

  • Your name.
  • Your Hawkeye ID number.
  • A brief description of the circumstances.

You can report your card lost or stolen by contacting Public Safety or Student Services.

If you give notice of a lost or stolen card by telephone, you must confirm this in writing or email within 48 hours to Student Services.

Card Replacement

A card replacement fee of $5 will be charged for lost, stolen, damaged, and misplaced cards, as well as photo retakes. No fee will be charged for your initial Hawkeye Card or a legal name change.

Terms & Conditions

Only the person pictured on the Hawkeye Card is authorized to use the card. To receive a Hawkeye Card, you must provide one piece of government issued photo ID (example: your driver's license). Hawkeye Community College reserves the right to utilize any and all data and images for official Hawkeye Community College business, according to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). If anyone other than you (the card holder) tries to use your Hawkeye Card, the card will be deactivated. Anyone found using someone else’s card may be found to be in violation of the Student Conduct Code and may be subject to disciplinary action such as probation or suspension.
